100 GB ipod to come soon

With respect to my yesterday's post about 100 GB mobile drive and how it could benefit the IPOD or MP3 or MP4 market.

Here is what in the store for you.

CNET noticed that Toshiba yesterday announced plans to introduce in the early new year a 100GByte hard disk of the size (1.8in) used in iPods - and moved on from there in the knowledge that Apple has traditionally snaffled up the company's latest and greatest mini hard disks to boost the selling power of iPods.Naturally, as usual, Apple was unwilling to comment on any future product launch when CNET asked for its take.

WOOT! It seems we are IN for 100 GB surprise :-)

Toshiba unveils 1.8" 100 GB hard drive

Great news for the fans of tiny lil Mobile HDD. Toshiba has unveiled a 1.8" 100 GB mobile HDD.
The new model MK1011GAH has two platters, four heads, and can transfer data at 100 MB per second, according to Toshiba. The company also reports a 4200 RPM platter rotation speed, a weight of 59 grams, and dimensions of 54x71x8 mm.

Impressed with the stats? Now here is what in the store. Similarly, another company Hitachi is currently in the final stages of introducing a 250 GB HDD...Thats sounds pretty cool.

You guys must be wondering how does that help me? Well it can improve the capacity of IPODs etc.

Microsoft Launches Vista Officially

On 30th November, Microsoft finally lauched much awaited VISTA in a business conference. It was almost 2 years since it was proposed codenamed as Longhorn and later renamed as Vista.

The launch of Vista has been repeatedly delayed because -- by Microsoft's own admission -- it over-complicated the product. But it now claims the software system makes loading and playing digital music and displaying digital photographs much easier.

Microsoft's chief executive, Steve Ballmer, claimed the company's new launches were "game changing" developments. "We expect that more than 200 million people will be using at least one of these products by the end of 2007," he said. "I believe they signal the beginning of a new wave of innovation that will have an even more profound impact during the next decade."

Does that mean vista can offer more to the gaming communuity. Well they said the same thing when they launched XP, but besides offering Latest Direct X drivers, they didnt do much. In fact screwed up many games after patching XP 2 intial version (it was fucked up if you remember).

As we all know, with micrsoft products being highly utilised by other vendors and game developers. Its very unlikely that we wont switch to VISTA and considering Microsoft sheer hijacking techniques when it comes to distribution, you can imagine all new desktop being VISTA ready before they hit your desk.

eventually Microsoft will leave you only ONE choice, Upgrade to Vista or DIE!

Consoles might beat PC As Preferred Gaming Platform

As most of you know that i am gamer myself (wouldnt make a mistake by calling myself a PRO) for more than 10 years now. Surpised? but hell yeah. I am playing since PC came to India lol. Now even though i moved out of india and soon becoming 30, my passion for gaming is not going to end too soon :-)

Perhaps the medium might change sooner than i thought. I am referring to the Killer Consoles which slowly but steadily making their way in the gamers house and of course their mind. The next couple of years are going to be crucial for consoles, if they want to lead the gaming scene. They need to provide alternative gaming (basically providing more alternative to gaming). The new consoles must provide stuff to lure those gamers who feel a necessity for consoles. Today gamers are happy with PC. It gives them not only gaming but music/videos etc. Of course the new consoles provide all that, however it should be distinctive. One of the few ideas could be to provide a non-downloadble buffered gaming content over the internet (of course only possible with fast broadband connections) but surely not a show-stopper. sooner or later world is getting converged with better connectivity. Next 5 years we could expect such technology. UT2007 is said to streaming maps over the internet and its a much awaited game on my list.

I surfed over the internet to know that Gears of War sold more than 1 million copies in less than a month (MS FTW) and that Zelda for Wii (and other games for it too, like Wii Sports or Red Steel) are also registering stellar sells.

One more important thing about consoles sales/marketing is the Pricing. Most of the gamers belong to teenage to 30's age bracket. People in 30s can afford the consoles but teenagers are largely dependent on their parents who wouldnt too happy to give their kids another gadget to play with when he already invested a few dollars on his brand new PC.

This question pop-ups every now and then. If consoles are purely for games why should i buy them? I again need to switch back to the PC for other activies, so consoles isnt that great.

Sony, MS and nintendo need to answer these questions before time slips off their hands. It looks like they wil.

Good luck to them and wish for a better hassle free gaming platform :-)

What Gadget you might see in next 5 years

After looking at today's technology, can someone make a wild guess as to what technology gadgets might be available to us and which is that gadget which will be converged more. I guess i can give it a try. I might not be right but i am sure i would be close to the reality :-)

1) Mobile: One of the widely and largely used gadget around the world. Would be converged the most with TV, Movies and more entertainment added to this already bulky options catalogue. But i am getting a feeling that mobiles will not be called mobile. The primary function will not be Calls it will be video calls and even much more than that.

2) Consoles: This is going to be a HIT and slowly people wont play games on their PC. 5 yrs might be a short time for that but surely consoles will make their way in more and more houses that they are today. Next 10 years you will see Console market is the hottest and i can expect more companies in the next 5 years exploring the scene.

3) Mp3/Mp4/Mp5 Player: MP3 player is a cheap word today. Ipod has already leading the mp3 player scene. However you can expect more intelligent Ipods in the next 5 years. These Ipod are internet driven and you can play music over the internet without downloading them on your Ipod. Better wireless control and free download will make this market as HOT as the girl next door. Maybe you might see Mp5 a new standard with more compressed data storage facility. Most of these players with be HDTV compatible.

I would cover some more electronic items which might change in the next 5 years.

If you like my articles want to subscribe for them, Please do so by entering your email in the Feedburner subscription.

Sony PSP 3 Firmware Download

If you have this cute lil gadget, its perhaps time to upgrade to the next patched version 3.1

The new update, version 3.01 is meant to allow users to achieve a close connection with the company's next generation games console PlayStation 3.

The update allows users to watch data stored on their PS 3 through their PSP courtesy a wireless connection. Sony has also improved the RSS reader and has provided support for the camera accessory.

Additionally users can also play music stored on any memory stick using the PSP's MP3 player. A visual player feature has also been added, as has a 3-speed fast forward and fast reverse feature for the music category.

You can also
downloaded some games on the PS 3 and played on the PSP. These games include Resident Evil Director's Cut, Konami's Antiques MSX Collection, Bishi Bashi Special, Arc the Lad, Jumping Flash, Hot Shots Golf 2, Silent Bomber and Tekken 2.

Firefox & IE7 Vulnerability- Fake Login Pages

Did you switch to the latest firefox 2 or IE7 lately and you thought you are safe in the holy shit world of internet.

The recent review done by ZD net shows that the flaw lets hackers compromise users' passwords and usernames by presenting them with a fake login form. Firefox Password Manager will automatically enter any saved passwords and usernames into the form.

The data is then automatically sent to an attacker's computer without the user's knowledge, according to the Chapin Information Services site. An exploit for this flaw has already been seen on social-networking site www.MySpace.com , and it could affect anyone using a blog or forum that allows user-generated HTML code to be added, according to ZD net.

At the time of writing this post, no fix is available on the Mozilla site but the bug is reported under the bug list.

Recommendation to Minimise the Risk of Attacks:

Review your server code for the possibility of XSS and RCSR injections, especially operators of encrypted Web sites.

Now Watch TV on your mobile

Converge is here.. We always strive to make our life better and one of the most widely used gadget is none other than "Mobile Phones". Mobiles have changed almost every year starting from a simple phone to make a call to a 3G phone, the journey was faster than your daily nature's call.

With 3G phones making video calls is no more a dream and now since people are addicted to TV as hey are to internet, companies are now thinking of giving TV access to the mobile users. The first step is already taken by Sony & Ericsson.

Sony has recently targeted nokia customers and trying to woo them with classy phones. I must say nokia lost a significant market to SE. SE gave awesome phone series with their W series being a major hit. I somehow dislike the bulky N series. IMHO it sucks big time. It sounds like handling a bloddy Walky-Talky phone. LOL.

Anyways getting back to the topic, Having co-operated successfully in cellphone handsets Sony and Ericsson are eyeing what they expect will be a boom market enabling people to watch TV on mobile handsets.

According to Sony,
about one third of the world's mobile phone users will regularly be watch TV broadcasts on their handsets in two years.

""Associated Press reported that the two companies demonstrated a number of solutions they expect to become commonplace in home entertainment, including systems where film footage and pictures can easily be sent between a regular TV and a mobile phone, allowing friends and family members to share footage with the press of a button."

Ericsson also announced that Belgian operator Proximus had awarded it a contract for an end-to-end mobile TV solution, including Ericsson's Channel Selector. "It will enable customers of Proximus to enjoy fast and easy channel surfing for mobile TV," Ericsson said.

Ericsson will provide Proximus with what it claims is the world's fastest channel selector solution, making mobile TV channel surfing much more convenient. "Changing from one channel to another needs just one click on the mobile handset. This saves time and brings the mobile TV experience closer to that of a home TV experience. The launch of the solution is planned for 2007.

Sounds like we are in for a treat. With more and more technology, i always wonder if mobile phone will be used for other services than making a call. I am predicting that in next 5 years, mobile will be a convergent device and it will change your life.

American influence on the world

Ever wondered why americans call themselves different? I never wonder coz i know for sure why they are different. American society was always founded on the very word "Freedom". This word was perhaps the first think a child learns before even identifying english words or even his/her parents.

One of the other things about america and which is equally important is their power to influence other countries which were distinctively different from them for e.g.China or india. We followed americans on everything we did in the last couple of years. We followed them with MTV, we did the same with fashion brands, we did it with neverendingcrap soap operas. Although we are born in different countries we are half-americans today. Yes, dont believe yourself, but its true. Try to jot down 10 things you did which were anywhere not influenced by america. I am sure you wont come out with many...what you got 4..look closely..even they might have some influence.

It was the early stage of internet back in india and chatting was a new concept to an indian. Thankfully, i had a PC then and freakin dialup connection with a spedd of 33 KBPS. (damn..i cant even think about it.) I remember talking to an american in yahoo chat rooms, when i told him i live in mumbai, india (i used to live there before moving to singapore), he wasn't too sure about where india is. Man i couldnt stop laughing. That day i realised that most of the americans are in their own world. they feel there is nothing beyond america and america is the world for them.

Neverthless sooner or later, they realised that there is someone more power(fool) and that was Mr. Laden. The old frd of america who paid back his debts. Americans now are more literate about the world. They know where is Iraq, they also know about being banglored (loosing a job to an indian).

Whatever the globalisation gave to the asian countries is of debate but one thing for sure it gave them a "Value" and a "Image".

If americans know YOU...YOU really made a difference. Trust me its hard to make your BOSS realise your value :-)

You Don't KNow

Nobody knows me yet everyone knows my name
Some people judge me, not knowing that I'm the same
Thanks for the offer but I keep my old friends always
But then I get lonely, counting the endless days

Are you here for me at all?
Do you care for me at all?
Well this time now I know
I aint standing alone no more

Cause all I want is love
Someone who can share the pain I feel
And the eyes that stare
Won't stare at me no more
Cause all I need is time
Time for me to open up and show
The person I am
The person you think you know
You don't know
You don't know

Some heartfelt emotions
Creeping from deep inside
Cause being this person
Is all I've got left to hide

Were you here for me at all?
Did you care for me at all?
Last time I was told
I aint standing alone no more

All I need is love
Someone who can share the pain I feel
And the eyes that stare won't stare at me no more
And all I need is time
Time for me to open up and show

The person I am
The person you don't know
You don't know
You don't know

Google's new born Babies

As i have spoken many times about google as a innovation company than a tech company. The company never fails to ensure that your belief is firm.

The technovators (Technology innovators, word coined by me. Dont republish) are working their ass out to give something new to the world and of course make money in the short or long run. The strategy is to have internet and people googlised. They have been successful so far but lets see what we have in our plates. I would covering some of the insider info here. Some of the products are in their alphas and not known to googler like you.

So enjoy and do drop a comment or two.

1) Google Web Toolkit (Now Build AJAX apps in the Java language)

When was the last time you thought of using AJAX, if you never thought about it. I guess its high time you should go for it. Its the language of the future and largely used by google labs for creating new systems/apps/webapps. Go for it and enjoy this new toolkit which can make your life easier.

Google Web Toolkit Features
Dynamic, reusable UI components
Create a Widget by compositing other Widgets. Lay out Widgets automatically in Panels. Send your Widget to other developers in a JAR file.
Really simple RPC
To communicate from your web application to your web server, you just need to define serializable Java classes for your request and response. In production, GWT automatically serializes the request and deserializes the response from the server. GWT's RPC mechanism can even handle polymorphic class hierarchies, and you can throw exceptions across the wire.
Browser history management
No, AJAX applications don't need to break the browser's back button. GWT lets you make your site more usable by easily adding state to the browser's back button history.
Real debugging
In production, your code is compiled to JavaScript, but at development time it runs in the Java virtual machine. That means when your code performs an action like handling a mouse event, you get full-featured Java debugging, with exceptions and the advanced debugging features of IDEs like Eclipse.
Browser compatible
Your GWT applications automatically support IE, Firefox, Mozilla, Safari, and Opera with no browser detection or special-casing within your code in most cases.
JUnit integration
GWT's direct integration with JUnit lets you unit test both in a debugger and in a browser...and you can even unit test asynchronous RPCs.
Internationalization
Easily create efficient internationalized applications and libraries.
Interoperability and fine-grained control
If GWT's class library doesn't meet your needs, you can mix handwritten JavaScript in your Java source code using our JavaScript Native Interface (JSNI).

Interested wanna download

2) Make a Call from Google Maps

Wow. sounds cool and yeah its possible. Now you can search for a contact in Google maps and can actually make a call to that company.

According to Min Zeng, Google Maps team

Here's how it works: Search for a business, like a hardware store, on Google Maps, and click the 'call' link next to its phone number. Then, enter your phone number and click 'Connect For free.' Google calls your phone number and automatically connects you to the hardware store. There are two things that I really like about this. The business's phone number is automatically stored in your caller ID so you can easily call back in the future. And by checking the box to remember your phone number, you can make future calls from Google Maps with just two mouse clicks (and picking up your phone, of course).

Enjoy and have fun

Aggresive Singaporeans- A Video Story

I wouldn't say much. Just see this series of videos to see how singaporeans are going wild in the city.

Bloddy hell..

Hong Kong from the Peak

Yet another series of travel blogging, i am presenting Hong Kong. The city much talked about in the west but still very much in the east. Probably the only city where you can see high rise building next to a small chinese town alongside (singapore can be quite close to it). I love hong kong for its diversity and local people. I even think hong kong has a great option for foodies. The local chinese food is very much similar to mainland china and you can easily get food from your own country. You name it hong kong has it. May it be prada, mango or any other brand, hong kong is newyork of the east. The only other city in the east which can compete with HK is only singapore. bangkok doesnt quality and KL sucks imho.

Lets look at this photos and video series. This post is only about Peak. The peak is the most visited destination or place in HK. One of the oldest tram still exist in HK and which takes you to the top of the peak. When you are in the tram you feel like you are going in a rocket or something and you can see building around you bending down..Its funny but its so cool. you gotta be there. Once you are on top, you gotta love the view of HK. Try to visit during non-winter days else its kinda dizzy and not so clear plus you will be freeze to death lol.

Check out The peak from my angle.

Hong Kong Racing- Happy Valley Racecourse

During my last official visit to Hong Kong during Feb-March, i took some pictures & Videos of Happy Valley rece course. I eventually won 20$ in the end.

I out about $80 and lost $60 = $20. Not much, the max i won was $150. Neverthless, here are the pics. This place is a must visit if you are travelling to HK. Usually Happy Valley host races on Wednesday and on saturday the races are held at Sha Tin (a bit far from city).

India and China- New Monsters on the Horizon

Today's news read..............India and China have pledged to double trade to $40bn (£21bn) a year by 2010 during talks between Indian PM Manmohan Singh and Chinese President Hu Jintao.

On this ocassion Hu jintao said, "We both believe that an early settlement on the boundary question serves the fundamental interest of our two countries ". Please read it carefully..China is a smart nation which never gives full control to another nation and always keep situation ambigious for their own benefit.

Lets look back and discuss how the relationships are gonna work.

Currently China and India along with Russia are the frontrunners for the next big economic giants. Perhaps, china will take over their rivals to lead the race as they are doing today. Strong government, right attitude and pouring FDI has made china a strong nation that it was 20 years back.

India on the other hand is just starting to taste the globalisation fruits. With growing demand for real estate in india (for novice, the real estate market in india has grown by more than 800% in one year) has changed the way people look at india. However, poor government rules in smaller states along with attitude of the perople, growing population and sustained growth will be the issues hovering around for the next 15-20 years. I suspect india start to really develop by mid-2025. The time when most of the other countries will forget whats development, coz they will be living in 2080's. India will lag till 2050 before they could make it up with likes of singapore, china etc.

One of the concern for india to be with china is growing relationship between china and pakistan. Anything related to pakistan, india gives a second thought.

I believe, this will definately help india but unfortunately not a quick difference, but definately not a waste since it will make a difference in the long run perhaps after 10 years or so, when markets become more competitive and low cost countries will dominate business.

Good luck to India and one advice.."Play safe with China"

History of Singapore- Part 3

Morning Line from my desk. Covering the parts of the history of singapore series. Hope you like it.

1984 - Two opposition MPs elected to parliament for first time.

1990 - Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew stands down after 31 years, but continues to exert significant influence as senior minister. Goh Chok Tong becomes new prime minister.

1993 - Ong Teng Cheong becomes first directly-elected president.

1994 - Caning of American teenager Michael Fay for vandalising cars grabs world headlines.

1995 - Nick Leeson's disastrous dealings on Singapore stock exchange lead to collapse of Britain's oldest merchant bank, Barings. He is convicted in Singapore and sentenced to six and a half years in jail.

One of the major decision during the 90s was the ban on chewing Gum. There is an interesting story behind it about a vandals using chewing gum to stick between the MRT doors so that they get jacked up.

To be honest, chewing gum isnt very popular in asia, however americans miss it too much to be true.

Maybe some americans can give their comments?

Christmas Travel- How to save a Blunder

Do you always end up buying a full price (no promo) tickets coz all the Promotional tickets are over?

Here are some TIPS for you to ensure that you enjoy a great holiday and save on the extra penny for travel, which you can shell out at something extra at your destination.

1) Checkout online deals. People always make mistakes by only looking at TOP airlines likes SIA, Cathay or Qantas. Try searching for local airlines (country you are visiting). For e.g: If you are visiting Colombo, you would be lot smarter to fly on Srilankan Airlines than Singapore Airlines which might cost you $100 more per pax. Imagine the money you save with tickets can buy you a sensual massage at the resort............

2) Checkout NATAS fare deals. This local singapore travel association typically host a travel fare during september or peak season. I am sure they will have one more around Chinese new year. so grab tickets during this time. Very cheap Lah (LOL..am turning singaporean day by day). ..

3) There are some local travel companies which gives good deal for a fair price. Check out some of the these.

www.airfares.com.sg (Misa Travel)- Dont have to pay in advance while booking. You can block tickets and pay later.
http://flights.chanbrothers.com/cbflights/ Didnt use them, but good enuff as i heard from other. Sometimes give best market prices.
www.zuji.com.sg Somehow i feel its a rip-off. If you compare prices with other companies, they sometime charge way too high.
www.priceline.com.sg Perhaps the only good thing about this site is, you can set your own price for a ticket. If the airline accept it, you might get a deal for $300 return to Sydney (cool yeah?).
http://p2ptravel.com/ Pretty OK site. Has some good deals.

4) Try to plan your vacation in advance, however do not book your tickets in advance. Most of the promo fares start coming in 1 and half month before your travel date. But once it comes out, go grab it fast before it last :-)

5) If you are one of frequent flyer, check out deals at airline website. They sometimes give away 10-30% discounts on tickets. Might come in handy during this season.

6) Try to get foreign exchange before you leave singapore, since it might turn out to be a costly affair at the airports abroad and you might be ripped off with the forex rates. For e.g In Srilanka, they do all transaction in USD and if you give them another currency. They rip you off by giving u a nominal exchange rate.

Hopefully this will help you in the coming holiday season, christmas and chinese new year. Enjoy your trip and travel safe.

Google- A Company with Ideas

Google- a monster grown from a baby infant within a short span of time. One of the striking difference difference between google and other companies was always the passion to create something new. To innovate was the key for google's success and of course now they adopted a new technique of biuying out companies which are doing well in the niche areas (e.g Youtube).

With such amazing ideas and somethingnewhappening@googleallthetime , everyone is looking for new stuff coming our way from Google. Lets look at what we can expect in coming months.

1) Google Code Search: http://www.google.com/codesearch

After being a undisputed leader in search engines and offering value added services like google desktop search, google suggest etc. Google is now focusing on a niche market of programmers. We all know more than 70% of the code written by programmes is inspired/searched over the net. I wouldnt called it a rip-off but a knowledge re-use. Its necessary and its has its own market. Programmers always find it difficult to find codes but not anymore.

They might be able to do stuff like..

regexp
Search for a regular expression go{2}gle hello,\ world ^int printk

2) Google Transit: http://www.google.com/transit

After google maps, a new extention to the series with Transit services tracking. Unfortunately, its gonna be available only in US atleast in beta.

3) Google Accessible http://labs.google.com/accessible/

are you handicapped? visually impaired? Google has a answer. This new site will help handicapped people with search over the internet.

4) Google Mars http://www.google.com/mars/

Ever wondered about aliens? Fed up of living with Animals around you (LOL). Its prolly time for you to imagine youself buying a property over mars. I am kidding., but new service definately put a lot of light to the notsohypedup mars mission.

Enjoy browsing through the sites and drop some comments. If you are looking for some specific reviews about websites, products etc, please let me know. I would cover them here.

Americans get ready to be fingerprinted!

Iran (too scared of americans) has now made fingerprinting identity checks for all americans entering iran.

"All US citizens should be controlled and subjected to digital fingerprinting when they are issued with a visa and when they enter Iran," according to the bill, adopted after a debate broadcast live on state radio.

"This law comes in response to the American practice of taking digital fingerprints of sportsmen, political officials and other Iranians, sometimes with an insulting attitude," MP Kazem Jalali said during the debate.

WOW..now thats what i call a revenge..
Wonder what will be the rules for George W Bush while entering Iran on his next trip sometime. LOL..they might get his a$$ scanned. lol.

Sentosa Integrated Resport- Opportunities for Singapore

The recent deal with Las vegas Sands for Marina bay IR (Integrated Resort) has put Singapore on the forefront of travel destinations to visit in next 5 years. Singapore has always been a first choice of asians, especially indians for a annual holiday. Although recently, its lost a bit of charm after HK took over singapore by getting disney by their side. It was about time for a conservative singaporeans to look beyond the natural beauty and welcome tourist round the globe by offering something unique and out of the box.

PM Lee agaisnt all opposition has decided to go ahead with his IR plans. One of the major change in what was earlier proposed and whats coming our way is the "Casino". The earlier concept was just to build the casino, but there was immense opposition since chinese people love gambling. (if you dont believe me go to genting casino. Every other guy next to you is chinese). finally a more demanding and value-added plan was prepared. A plan that will help singapore to be on TOP as a entertaining as well as cultural city in Asia.

IR will have casino, entertainment atriums, food malls and a convention center to attract the business travelling community. One of the things singapore always lacked was BUZZ. If you happen to visit HK, you would soon realise its all about BUZZ. HK is more happening that singapore for nightlife. However lack the singaporean greenery, which i love the most.

Singapore is perhaps the greenest city in the world and we still maintain it when the world is moving toward cementing their lives.

I got some photos of the recent bids submitted by various casions/corporations for Sentosa Ir bid. Have a look and dream for that singapore...............

IR Bid 1: Third Wonder

IR Bid 2: Genting & Star Cruises Bid

IR Bid 3: Kerzner & Capitaland

I hope you enjoyed the pictures. Keep Watching this space for more exciting news.

What do you think?

What do you think about the job position as a funeral director for a female? Being a funeral director has been my ambition for quite sometime... I've always wanted to be one since my grandmother passed away... I saw how the funeral went and instantly I realise it was somthing most people fear of but yet everyone has to face some day... However, protective parents of mine never agree to my point of view... probably not going to succeed in being a funeral director...Can't imagine myself as being a successful business woman...(what my parents want me to be) Hope I'm able to find the right path and please everyone on my way... *tough luck*

GST to eat extra cash in Singapore

Recent announcement by PM Lee to increase GST from 5% to 7% is going to hit singaporeans in one way or the other. GST is almost on 90% of the products/services that we consume in singapore.

Time to save that extra buck to pay to the goverment. I hope that really make the difference for the needy. Atleast i am confident that the singapore goverment will put it to a good use. This feeling makes me welcome this 2 % burden although that would disrupt my saving potential and targets.

Poor Mr. Bush after loosing with democrats in the mid term elections is now on the run. The screws have tighten up his a$$ to get moving and show the americans that he is worth the next 2 years in office. Enjoy ur stay and relax in Asia coz its going to be a bumpy road ahead when you return in office.

Legalise Prositution & Betting in India

I really dont understand a reason why prositution & Betting is a taboo in the indian society when almost 60% of the youth involved in either or both the activities. The recent sex survey by Indian today also revealed the habits of the indian youth and the risk they can/want to take for the 10 min pleasure time.

We call our indian society to be bound by values and culture. I guess all this is passe as we move to the next generation charged with porn movies, internet and MMS scandals they have nothing more to think about. The guys today spend half of their time in something related to sexual acts. Its not surprising but since we created it. Its the fruit of the so called Indian society tress which was watered with regulations and oldtimesake cultural foundations (which one follows).

I do agree that we have a great cultural history but unfortunately its not understood by the youths or its too late now to embibe it in the system. Many countries are still conservative in the nature however changed in the way to dilute their beliefs to the new socital changes.

The world will change and its bound to change, but India is not changing in the way they think about this issues. I think its high time to legalise some of the illegal (not anymore in many countries) things in india.

Why legalise prositution?

60% of the youth today and more in future, will feel the need of a prostitute (thanks to the societal rules), and the goverment will be left with rules which they dont follow. If its illegal and we cant stop it from happening. Atleast make it legal and ban people aged below 21 to enter such areas.

The goverment can build legal brothels and keep a close watch on the happenings there. This will ensure that the business is following the regulations. If these things become legal, the gangsters, gundas will have little say in the business and making them loosers in the end. Furthermore, to ensure that AIDS campaign is followed strictly, do regular medical checks at the brothers. This will definately curb down the momentum.

Similarly, Betting needs to be legalised. The goverment should allow private betting companies to enter the market and setup a shop here. The goverment by this easy mean can earn a huge commission over each betting transaction which can be used for the benefit of underpriviledged. I would say we can go to the point that the betting account will be traced by I T dept to even track down on the high earners, or even deduct TDS on the winning amount. This will ensure that everyone is happy. the goverment makes money, the guys makes money. Today only the punters earn...

I would continue with some other issues and solutions later

Mumbai- The freedom City

Mumbai a city which never sleeps. Neither people sleep here, coz many of them dont have their own house. 2 days back i read a stroy on Mid-day about 7 people getting killed by a uberspeedster young guy in early 20s. Eventually they were sleeping on the pavement. If this case goes to the court, which it would...how will the guys protect themselves..

1) Pavement is not the place to sleep.
2) We were drunk but heck if no one was the pavement, it wouldn't have been a accident.

Suprisingly and surely these guys will escape from the Long (barely we can see) arm of law. The justice system in india is broken down and its useless to say the least. If you file a case today in family court, you would most probably get a date which is 15 yrs later. Am i sounding stupid? but heck i aint..its the fact and its true.

We always say USA is all about freedom. Be it related to sex, going naked on the beach or doing whatever you like. I counter that opinion, I strongly feel Mumbai gives freedom to do things which none of the country/city can ever think of.

Our road transport authority build pavements/footpaths for people to walk. during my visit, the footpaths were very new and build about 2 weeks back. I thought mumbai is finally improving, i started walking over the footpath. I couldnt walk for a mere 5 mins before i had to get on the road coz some stupid hair dresser has a illegal stall on that road. What the FCUK is that? Now the whole pavement is hijcked by bhelpuriwalas, vada pav stalls and what not. I guess these guys pay BMC for building nice polised cement concrate areas specially designed for them.

I dont know where Mumbai is leading to...but i feel like crying thinking of it.

Hello

My first post on this blog. Dont know how to start with. \

Maybe i could talk about my vacation to India during diwali, that typical diwali smoke (better than travelling on sakinaka roads). Talking bout sakinaka, i suspect its the most polluted area on earth..damn am sure it is....

Mumbai is just like as it was about 6 months back when i left india. I certainly miss mumbai but not for what it is only for the people around me...

I would surely talk more about mumbai and my experience during the 3 weeks visit.

P.S: this blog will talk about everything..politics, games, music, movies...anything your brain can chew..
